though i primarily focus on portrait work, when a friend of a friend asked me to do her wedding, i was thrilled to accept. this wedding was an intimate collection of family and friends as the guest list totalled 25! by the end of the day, andrew and i agreed that we felt like we had been part of the guest list ourselves. what an amazing family to witness–their joy and love for each other spilled out throughout the day and it was truly an honor to document this day for them. enjoy some photos from the day~

julie and zack. congratulations. we wish you both the very best!
i am so excited to officially announce the make-over of my new website! take a look around at some of the new features and let me know what you think!
i will be returning soon with photos from recent sessions~
will it be 70 degrees in february and then snow on march 1st.
i have lived in georgia all of my life and still have yet to get used to our crazy weather patterns. that being said, i do love the fact that we have all four seasons here and i can hardly wait for spring to really arrive–in my opinion, nothing beats an atlanta spring!
.
despite my desire for spring i become like a little kid when it snows, so i was ecstatic when we pulled up to church on sunday and the snow began falling. i know what you northerners may be thinking, but andrew’s parents (from chicago) even agreed that it was “real snow.” i couldn’t wait to get home, go exploring, and take lots of photos! while andrew was scraping the snow off of our car after the service, i pulled out my camera for a quick shot and i’m so glad i did! by the time we pulled into our neighborhood the snow was still falling, but none stuck where we live at all. we did start a fire and have a cozy afternoon watching the snow fall, but no more pictures.
.
enjoy my 1 piece of evidence that we did get snow in atlanta!

yikes! where has the last month gone? i have had a huge deadline for my teaching job and have devoted much of my time of late to that. now that the deadline is past, i am back to blogging. and can i just say that it is good to be back?
.
ah, where to start? a few weeks ago i shot some photos of “stage 1″ of a friend’s sister’s 21st birthday party. let me say that these girls know how to throw a party! you’ll see in the photos why i am so blessed to call these girls friends of mine!
.
after appetizers, the girls had planned the “stephanie” game. everyone got a card with a prompt–ranging from where you first met stephanie, first impression of stephanie, favorite stephanie memory, stephanie-isms, etc. so much fun and such a creative way to show the birthday girl how loved she is.
.
the birthday girl herself laughing at the pic below…
.
these 2 paired up to do the “stephanie-isms”…hilarious!
.
a-z, all the things we love about stephanie.
.
group shot of the girls before they headed downtown. i loved these all in black and white, but had to do this one in color because how fun is the green wall??
.
while we’re in color, check out the invites and hand-painted martini party favors…it’s all in the details…
.
and this is where we parted…off to continue the party in atlanta!

this couple is extra fun to post about because it’s my brother and sister-in-law. when they came down to atlanta last weekend, we knew we wanted to do a mini-photo session, but the question was where. as they are both in grad school and very academically-inclined, i decided to take them to see emory university. i have discovered that one of my new fav. things to do is to explore college campuses. i love the feeling of academia–and now that i am done with college, simply visiting a campus is fun because i don’t have the work-load associated with it.
.
the balcony on top of the library–did i mention that it was in the 20’s all day?? they were both amazing sports about the cold!
.

by far, my favorite spot on campus was the reading room in the main library. if it hadn’t been so quiet, i would have loved taking some photos there. the building as a whole was pretty amazing, though, so enjoy some photos from one of the staircases~

it may have been cold, but the sky was a gorgeous blue~

our morning ended with a tasty lunch at felinis~
.
i had a great time with you guys–can’t wait to see you this spring in dc!!
