Chase: 2010 Senior

We’ll finish out our week of seniors with Chase. I actually had his younger sister in class last year, so it was fun to get to meet the big brother that she is so proud of. Between his success in his band and his aspirations in mechanicatronic (did I spell that right, Chase?) engineering, he definitely has a great future in front of him. Rosalind: 2010 Senior

On the same day I met with Alex last week, I had the chance to meet with Rosalind for another senior session (did I mention this was senior week on the blog??). There is so much that I have enjoyed about the senior sessions I have been shooting lately, but there is one element that has been recurring in each one of them. If a parent has come along on the session, the interaction between the student and parents has been characterized by mutual love and respect. In Rosalind’s session, for instance, I glanced over at her mom at one point and asked how she was holding up with Rosalind being a senior. Her reply? “Great! I couldn’t be more proud of Rosalind and how she has turned out.” At a time when there is so much focus on the outward, I found it tremendously refreshing to see students who have been cultivating their character as well. I’m so proud of all of the seniors I have met and know they will be part of a generation of world-changers! Enjoy a glimpse into Rosalind’s session:

alex: 2010 senior

It looks like this is going to be “Senior Week” on the blog! To start things off, let me introduce you to Alex, a future orthopedic surgeon. At least that’s one of his career aspirations. I actually had him in class as a 9th grader, so it was fun to see him so grown up and with such big dreams. Enjoy a glimpse:

laura: 2010 senior

After re-scheduling due to a rainy day, I met up with Laura on a gorgeous fall afternoon last week. Laura was actually one of my students last year, so it was fun to catch up and hear how her senior year is going and about her college plans for next year. She has so many talents and gifts and will excel at whatever she decides on–I wish her the best of luck! Enjoy a small glimpse into our session:

fall definitely rivals spring when it comes to the busy season for me, so i apologize for being a bit behind on blogging. lots has been going on, and i will be catching you up as quickly as i can. in the mean time, enjoy some photos i took of hannah last week. i taught this sweet girl in 6th grade, and it is amazing how much more grown up she looks now as an 8th grader! she is beautiful inside and out and a joy to be around. enjoy!

garrett: senior 2010

senior year is such an exciting time for both the senior and the parent. the senior relishes in a (usually) shortened schedule, being at the top of the school, and looking ahead to the path that will take them closer to their goals and dreams for the future. their last year of high school is filled with classes, friends, memories, and laughter. parents of seniors cherish their son or daughter’s last year at home and enjoy seeing the hard work of raising their child pay off as they are shaping into young adults of character and responsibility. i so love capturing seniors during this bittersweet season of their life, and garrett’s session was no different. enjoy a glimpse~

garrett is a senior at harrison high school, so this green wall was the perfect backdrop for showcasing his school colors.
