this couple is extra fun to post about because it’s my brother and sister-in-law. when they came down to atlanta last weekend, we knew we wanted to do a mini-photo session, but the question was where. as they are both in grad school and very academically-inclined, i decided to take them to see emory university. i have discovered that one of my new fav. things to do is to explore college campuses. i love the feeling of academia–and now that i am done with college, simply visiting a campus is fun because i don’t have the work-load associated with it.
.
the balcony on top of the library–did i mention that it was in the 20’s all day?? they were both amazing sports about the cold!
.

by far, my favorite spot on campus was the reading room in the main library. if it hadn’t been so quiet, i would have loved taking some photos there. the building as a whole was pretty amazing, though, so enjoy some photos from one of the staircases~

it may have been cold, but the sky was a gorgeous blue~

i had a great time with you guys–can’t wait to see you this spring in dc!!

i read this earlier today and loved it~

hatred paralyzes life; love releases it.
hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it.
hatred darkens life; love illuminates it.

i am so happy to share with you that we have bought our first house! yes, my recent absence from the blog is a result of the hectic activity that surrounds closing on and moving into a new home. andrew and i are beyond thrilled and can say with no hesitation that this is a true gift given to us from the Lord. He led us to this house and it could not be more perfect for us. i will be posting pictures as soon as all these boxes disappear.
.
meanwhile, enjoy this photo i took back in may on our trip to yosemite national park. i unearthed it last night and was reminded that while we may enjoy the “things” in life, nothing compares to the beauty found in the world around us.

welcome to 2009.
.
it seems that every year i say that i can hardly believe the new year is already here, and this year is no exception. thinking back on 2008, i am a bit in awe at the blessings sent our way. humbled even. i am excited to see what the Lord has in store this year~
